Smart Talk: The Real World?

Smart Talk is a cooperation between De Unie in Debat and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. It consists of a series of talkshows and debates tailored to movie enthusiasts looking for more depth and analysis, and runs from January 27th to February 2nd at the Kleine Zaal of the Rotterdamse Schouwburg. Three of the debates will be lead by Bas Heijne, a reporter.

Smart Talk: The Real World?

This debate will focus on the merging of film and reality. In The Signals: For Real programme, Bas Heijne will discuss Augmented Reality — adding an audiovisual layer to the real world. The topics will include reality as a canvas, the interaction between virtual and physical space and 'scripting' real situations. How do these cinematic art forms influence our perception of reality? And what will the impact be on society when the physical world is filled with extra virtual information? Featuring, among others, the eteam (the duo of artists Franziska Lamprecht and Hajoe Moderegger), new media artist Sander Veenhof, V2_ curator Michel van Dartel and cyber philosopher Jos de Mul (subject to change).
